George Mason Finally Joins the Win Column with Mr. Belding in Attendance

Saturday was 90s night at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, VA and Dennis Haskins, aka Mr. Belding from TV's Saved by the Bell, was in attendance for the festivities.
And as we reflect on the woeful start to what was once a promising season for the George Mason Patriots, perhaps nobody captures the sentiments of Mason Nation quite like "Mr. B" himself, with his famous catchphrase, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! What is going on here?"
Well, you can rest easy, Patriots fans. In a campus game of the Emerald Coast Classic, Mason used a late first half run to take a double digit lead over Southern University, and never relinquished it, holding off a Jaguars rally to escape with a 69-65 win, their first of the season.

Okay, so it's a less than impressive win over a team that isn't very good, but beggars can't be choosers, and when you're 0-3, you'll take what you can get, right?
Ouch!
The season may be young, but the Patriots have reached a critical juncture. The 0-3 start has all but eliminated any realistic hopes of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in March and this team needs to get better before the conference schedule opens.
At the end of the day, maybe we should all just be happy that things didn't turn out like they did the last time Belding showed his face at a basketball game.

The Patriots (1-3) shot 22 of 51 from the field, but struggled from distance, hitting just 4 of 20 attempts from beyond the arc. Livingston hit 7 of 18 field goal attempts but was 0-for-6 from long range. AJ Wilson has 12 points and Jaire Grayer and Justin Kier each contributed 11. Eddie Reese scored 21 points for Southern (0-4). Richard Lee added 11 points.

Actress Kate Mara, a member of a prestigious NFL football family, recently came out in favor of players who protest against the country during the national anthem.
The Pose star, whose family has stakes in the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers, told Variety that she supports what ever decision the players make on the protests, “whatever that might be.”
Mara’s uncle, Giants co-owner John Mara, was integral in creating the aborted NFL policy requiring players to either stand on the sidelines for the anthem or allowing them to stay in the locker room during the song.
Unlike her uncle, though, the actress opposes rules that would force the players to stand in honor of the country and flag during the Star-Spangled Banner.

“It’s bigger than … some of us think. I mean, it’s just important for me to go out there, hand over my heart, represent our country, and just be thankful. And not take anything I’ve been given and my freedom for granted,” he has said about his respect for the national anthem and the American flag.
It may be a patriotic stance that many fans will celebrate, but it has earned Prescott some angry responses from leftist celebrities.
On his radio show, comedian D.L. Hughley compared Prescott to a slave — and actually used the word “boy” to describe him.
