Manu Ginobili Announces Retirement

The "Big 3" era is officially over in San Antonio.
Spurs star Manu Ginobili, 41, took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to call it a career, announcing his retirement after spending 16 seasons in the NBA, all with San Antonio.
Today, with a wide range of feelings, I'm announcing my retirement from basketball. IMMENSE GRATITUDE to everyone (family, friends, teammates, coaches, staff, fans) involved in my life in the last 23 years. It's been a fabulous journey. Over the course of his career, Ginobili was a key part of one of sports' greatest dynasties, and helped lead the Spurs to four NBA titles.
Until Monday, Ginobili was the last piece of the Spurs' "big three" still in San Antonio, after point guard guard Tony Parker signed with the Charlotte Hornets earlier in the offseason, while future Hall-of-Famer Tim Duncan retired in 2016.
Ginobili's retirement brings to an end the greatest era in Spurs history, and one of the most memorable dynasties in all of sports.
On top of losing Parker to Charlotte and Ginobili's retirement, the Spurs also traded one of their brightest young stars, Kawhi Leonard, to the Toronto Raptors in June.
The times certainly are changing in San Antonio.
