For only the fourth time, a team in the Associated Press Top 25 poll failed to be included in the NCAA Tournament. Saint Mary's had been hoping to make the NCAA Tournament, but the selection committee disagreed with the poll voters. The Gaels, at 28-5, with a 16-2 mark in the West Coast Conference, holding a road win over Gonzaga and two victories against BYU, were passed over for the NCAAs despite holding on to the No. 25 spot in the AP poll after the regular season.

Georgia Tops No. 21 Saint Mary's in OT

Juwan Parker's free throw in overtime gave Georgia the lead, and No. 21 Saint Mary's was unable to get the stop when it needed, allowing the Bulldogs to defeat the Gaels 83-81 on Sunday in the third-place game of the Wooden Legacy tournament at Titan Gym in Fullerton, Calif.

Saint Mary's had no answer for Malachi Flynn. The Washington State guard scored a game-high 26 points, and the Cougars held off a late Saint Mary's rally to upset the No. 21 Gaels 84-79 on Friday in the semifinals of the Wooden Legacy tournament in Fullerton, Calif.
