Nick Piecoro, The Arizona RepublicTorey Lovullo isn’t usually the overly nostalgic type, but the seventh inning on Sunday brought back memories for the Diamondbacks manager. It harkened him back to a simpler time, an era when his offense could score and his team could win.
“Yeah, the good old days,” Lovullo said, a half-smile on his face. “You know, of 10 days ago.”
The Diamondbacks lost for the fifth consecutive time on Sunday evening, dropping a 6-4 decision to the Washington Nationals, who, one day after becoming the first team to win a series this season against the Diamondbacks, became the first to sweep them, doing so over four games at Chase Field.
