David Wright will Return to Mets this Season

NEW YORK -- David Wright would not be putting himself through such rigorous daily routines, and, yes, even pain, if he were not committed to his comeback.

Teammates have often marveled at Wright's resiliency, noting that they are not sure they could do the same if they were in his shoes.

Yet, Wright's commitment has never wavered, and he has made it clear that he plans to return and not let the injuries he's suffered end his career.

That day may finally be coming with the team set to provide an update Thursday on Wright that will feature good news, and possibly a target date for a return. Wright and COO Jeff Wilpon are scheduled to speak at a press conference.
