Legendary New York Giants linebacker Lawrence is back in the news again, and as per usual, the police are involved. However, it doesn't appear as if Taylor is in any trouble with the law. On the contrary, he may be the victim.

According to a report from TMZ, Taylor's wife, Lynette, was arrested at the couple's Florida home on Thursday and is now facing domestic violence and resisting arrest charges after she allegedly hit the Hall of Famer in the back of the head, cutting him, during an argument. According to the report, she was very uncooperative with authorities, and even attempted to strike them.

The 42-year-old Lynette denied the charges against her, telling police, "That's a lie. My husband is a 300 pound linebacker."

Despite LT declining to press charges, she was arrested, charged, and ordered to stay at least 500 feet away from her husband, and is not allowed any contact with him. According to authorities, Lynette has been arrested multiple times on violent allegations in the past.

In an update to their original story, TMZ is now reporting that Lynette has admitted she struck Lawrence in the back of the head, and quotes her as saying, "Yeah, I beat [his] ass. I made him bleed."

Police have also revealed that they believe alcohol was involved in this incident.

Taylor spent 13 seasons in the NFL, breaking bones, literally, for the New York Giants. The G-Men drafted him second overall out of North Carolina in the 1981 NFL Draft, and he started turning heads immediately, winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award in his first season. Over his career, Taylor played in 10 Pro Bowls, was named to 10 All-Pro teams, won three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, and was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1986. He also lead the Giants to two victories in Super Bowls XXI and XXV. In 1994, the Giants retired his #56, and in 1999 he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in his first year of eligibility.

For all of his greatness on the field, LT has dealt with a lifetime worth of demons off of it. He spent much of his career, and subsequent times, in trouble with the law. Most off LT's off-field problems stem from his addictions, and substance abuse. However, he's had a number of other run-ins with the police, as well.
