OCEANPORT - The seven year legal battle is finally over, and sports betting is coming to New Jersey.
Monday’s favorable ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court paves the way to allow gambling on sporting events at racetracks and casinos in the state.

“I am thrilled to see the Supreme Court finally side with New Jersey and strike down the arbitrary ban on sports betting imposed by Congress decades ago,'' Governor Phill Murphy said.

“New Jersey has long been the lead advocate in fighting this inherently unequal law, and today’s ruling will finally allow for authorized facilities in New Jersey to take the same bets that are legal in other states in our country.

'Spaceman' Running For Governor of Vermont

Former Red Sox pitcher, and lifelong crackpot, Bill "The Spaceman" Lee, has thrown his hat into the ring to be Vermont's next governor. Lee is running on the Liberty Union Party and hitching his wagon to the unsuccessful Bernie Sanders for President campaign. Sanders himself, was once a member of the Liberty Union Party.

Don't let the "liberty" in "Liberty Union Party" fool you. These people, like Sanders, are a bunch of left wing radicals, and that includes Lee. They are anti-Liberty in every way. They want the government (themselves) to control every aspect of your life. A generation ago, these people wouldn't have even been allowed to serve in our government. America has been fighting people like them for much of it's existence.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at Lee's campaign. When celebrities step into politics, it usually doesn't end well. Of course there are exceptions to that. Ronald Reagan was an actor who went on to become a great president, but for every Reagan, there's a Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Franken, Jerry Springer, Clay Aiken, and Donald Trump.

Much like his buddy Sanders, Lee's campaign is built on nonsense, and hinging on the hope that the dumbest voters among us, will show up in droves to vote for him.

The only coherent issue of Lee's campaign is the legalization of marijuana. That should come as no surprise. Lee is a well-known pothead, and he's only thinking about himself on this issue.

The rest of Lee's campaign promises are some of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. First, Lee would like to abolish Vermont's border with Canada, and then bring the Expos back to Montreal, none of which are functions of a sitting governor. Clearly, Lee has spent a lot of time thinking this through.

The Boston Herald quotes Lee as saying, "The problem with Americans is their fist is like this (closed), and you got to open your hands."

No, Bill, the problem with Americans is that they're far too tolerant left wing lunatics like yourself. Everything you stand for is anti-American in every possible way. You're the type of person who unknowingly describes Venezuela as a liberal utopia, but would never go and actually live in Venezuela. Instead, you'll just bring that kind of misery here, to America, with no regard for what you're destroying in the process.

Liberalism is a mental disorder, and Bill "The Spaceman" Lee is walking, talking proof of that.
