Former Texans safety Tyrann Mathieu intends to sign a three-year, $42 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 26-year-old Mathieu joined the Houston Texans on a one-year, $7 million deal last offseason after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals just before the start of the new NFL year.

Giants Hang on to Beat Texans, Earn First Win of Season

[ PHOTO: NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ]

The New York Giants entered a Week 3 game against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium having not scored 30 or more points in 35 consecutive games — the last time coming in Tom Coughlin’s final game as head coach.

In an attempt to shake things up, the Giants benched Ereck Flowers prior to kickoff and named Chad Wheeler the starter at right tackle. He was tasked with stopping three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt.

As harrowing as that may have seemed prior to the game, Giants head coach Pat Shurmur and offensive coordinator Mike Shula initially schemed well, allowing the running backs and tight end Rhett Ellison to pitch in on the right side.

For Pete's Sake Ep. 021 - 2017.11.01 - The NFL Protests are Simply Disingenuous

[ HAT-TIP: FOR PETE'S SAKE: THE PODCAST ]

November 2, 2017
The Monday Morning Quarterback

After a few weeks off, For Pete's Sake returned to MESN Radio on November 1st. In episode 21, Pete Solari discusses the ongoing protests around the NFL. At this point, the players are just being disingenuous. Do the Houston Texans really expect us to believe that, A)they took team owner Bob McNair's "inmates running the prison" comments literally, and B) they were offended by them? As NFL players continue to drift further away from reality, it's really no wonder why the league's popularity (and TV ratings) are plummeting. Furthermore, why is the media being complicit in furthering the players' bogus narrative? Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was caught flat-out lying about treatment he received from Las Vegas police. So why isn't the mainstream media telling you this, and why are they lauding Bennett as a hero, instead of accurately labeling him a fraud? And coming off the bye-week, the New York Giants return in week 9 to host the Rams. But who are they kidding? The season is over, and the team would be better-off vying for a top-5 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. With this in mind, the New York sports media can't refrain from blaming Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. for all the team's problems. Pete explains how truly misguided this line of thinking is, as holes on the Giants' offensive line (and the refusal of those inside and outside of the organization to acknowledge as much) has been hindering the team for years.
