RICHMOND, Va. — There was no shortage of intensity as the Jets and Redskins met for their first joint practice on Friday.
The
trash talk was incessant. There was widespread pushing and shoving. And
there were two brawls that broke out, with one of the fights briefly
spilling into a spectator area.
Both incidents
involved the Jets defense and the Redskins offense, who were practicing
on a field near the vast majority of fans. No players or fans appeared
to be hurt in the dustups.
In the end, a torrential
downpour, not fighting, cut practice short by about 15 minutes. But
Jets coach Todd Bowles was obviously not pleased about the incidents.
