Albany, NY - Monmouth will meet Iona with the MAAC championship on the line, tonight at 7 PM at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. Preview the game here.
Monmouth is 1-1 against Iona this season, including a rout several weeks ago in West Long Branch. The Hawks resume has slipped a bit since then, making tonight's game that much more important for them.
Should Monmouth lose tonight's final, they will still be in contention for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. In fact, they already are. If Iona loses, they will be no better than an NIT team.
There's no new speculation or fresh scenarios to consider, at least for right now. We'll definitely know more in a few hours, but a ton of questions may remain unanswered. Stay tuned.
